    Vintage Purinton FLOUR Canister Apple Slip Ware Red, Hand Painted, MCM American.  Purinton Slipware was made in Shippenville, Pennsylvania.

    : Excellent condition. Very pale yellowish mark on lid, hardly noticeable. No other issues detected. See photos as part of the item description.

    : 9.25" H with lid, 3.75" opening (enough to put your hand in it for washing)
    The Purinton Pottery Company was incorporated in Wellsville, Ohio, in 1936. The company moved to Shippenville, Pennsylvania, in 1941 and made a variety of hand-painted ceramic wares. By the 1950s Purinton was making dinnerware, souvenirs, cookie jars, and florist wares. The company closed in 1959.
