Here is a wonderful famous William Maddux elegant back swan planter in Mint condition. Famous in the 1930's - 1950's for his wonderful ceramic pottery figures and items in gorgeous glazes. Some of his most famous and sought after are the beautiful birds including cockatoos, parrots, blue birds and swans.
Wings are up from back and planter hole is between them. Nice expression head with pink bill. Marked on the bottom Maddux of Calif USA. Maddux was the founder of the pottery company that eventually came to bear the name "Maddux of California". Don't miss this fabulous swan planter that is an example of one of California s best 1950's ceramic pottery figures especially his birds.
