Vintage 6 Pc Set Esmond Watt Lazy Susan Revolving Canister Set Excellent!
Up for auction is a really nice vintage Esmond handpainted six piece set including four canisters for Flour (handpainted apple), Sugar (handpainted pineapple), Coffee (handpainted grapes) and Tea (handpainted pear), a rotating wooden base and a wooden top with handle.  I think Esmond Pottery pieces were somehow related to Watt and Purinton Potteries, but I may be wrong. This great set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or discoloration and only a few pottery pinpoint marks or minor imperfections with a couple tiny areas of discoloration only on the Sugar that I think all came from the pottery.  They are all nice and clean on the inside with no issues.  Each of the canisters measure about 7" tall, and 7" curved front, and with two 4 1/2" sides.  Each of the four sections are marked on the lower two sides on the inner part with ©ESMOND on one side and U.S. PAT. No. 181776 on the other side.  The handpainted cursive writing and colorful handpainted fruits are very well done and in great condition.  The wooden lid measures about 10 1/2" in diameter and 7/8" deep with a 1 3/8" round wooden handle that is about 3/4" high.  This lid is in very good condition with just a little bit of wear to the top of the handle and a couple other small areas on the top--not very noticeable.  The wooden base measures about 10 3/8" in diameter and is 3/4" deep with the rotating base measuring about 5" in diameter and 3/4" deep.  The base spins nicely and still has the cloth furniture protector on the very base.  The base does have some slight wear around the edge and on the top of the base.  I think these are all pretty minor issues considering this set is in overall excellent condition.
