    Description

    Purinton Slip Ware Teapot, Red Apple pattern, Vintage, 6.75" H, Hand Painted, American MCM. Purinton Slipware was made in Shippenville, Pennsylvania.

    The Purinton Pottery Company was incorporated in Wellsville, Ohio, in 1936. The company moved to Shippenville, Pennsylvania in 1941 and made a variety of hand-painted ceramic wares. By the 1950s Purinton was making dinnerware, souvenirs, cookie jars, and florist wares. The company closed in 1959.
