Purinton Slip Ware Teapot, Red Apple pattern, Vintage, 6.75" H, Hand Painted, American MCM. Purinton Slipware was made in Shippenville, Pennsylvania.Dimensions
: 6.75" H, 8" spout to Outer handle edge, approx 3.5" base diameter
Condition
: Excellent condition. Chip on inside of lid. Minor crazing in the glaze on the bottom edge and bottom. See photos as part of the item description.
The Purinton Pottery Company was incorporated in Wellsville, Ohio, in 1936. The company moved to Shippenville, Pennsylvania in 1941 and made a variety of hand-painted ceramic wares. By the 1950s Purinton was making dinnerware, souvenirs, cookie jars, and florist wares. The company closed in 1959.
