    Description

    Beautifully engraved large (14.5" diameter) brilliant silverplate horse show award from one of the Broadmoor Hotels world famous horse shows held in the late 1960's or the early 1970's.
    The Boradmoor Hotel is well known for being one of the world's finest luxury hotels and has been the host of many heads of state, celebrities, and ultra wealthy people.
    The Broadmoor's Grand Opening was in 1918; since that time the Broadmoor has continued to expand to where, today, the Broadmoor encompasses numerous facilites offering guess their choice of an expansive list of experiences and amenities.
    National and World skating and hockey championships have been held at the Broadmoor World Arena and golf championships have been held at the Broadmoor Golf Club since 1921.
    The Broadmoor Ice Palace, an Olympic training center, opened on January 1, 1938 on the resort grounds. It held a total of fourteen National Sports Festivals, World Figure Skating Championship, and U.S. Figure Skating championships and was renamed as the
    Broadmoor World Arena
    in 1961
    .
    Although the hotel no longer holds the annual Coxtail Horse Shows, they were well known for being one of the premier competitions drawing competitors from all over the world. Coxtail trophys were, and remain, prized trophys.
