This is a B.T.S. 7144 S Scale Wood Estuary Railroad Trestle Laser-Cut Wood Kit. The S Scale Estuary Trestle kit from B.T.S. is a typical low wooden trestle used for crossing various bodies of water such as estuaries. The estuary is a partially enclosed body of brackish water where freshwater rivers and streams flow into it, and then mix with the salt water of the open sea. While frequently not very deep, the estuaries are often wide. This trestle is patterned after one built in 1906 in Illinois and the design is a basic standard of low trestle construction. The model consists of laser-cut wood parts and a large supply of nut-bolt-washer castings that build into a realistic, and very strong, trestle. Rail and spikes are not included. Approximate Size - 14 x 90 scale feet. The wooden Estuary Trestle is one of many laser-cut wood S Scale kits from B.T.S.
