    Description

Welcome to my auction! You are considering a high quality antique 'bench made' or hand made Collectors Machinist chest produced in the mid to late 1940s appearing to be made out of highly figured yellow pine still retaining its original stain and finish showing a wonderful patina as well as its original solid brass hardware and lock. This is a great size chest/case being 24"L x 12"D x 14"H having (5) drawers and was designed as a stationary piece to be on a table or bench as there were never handles installed to carry the case about. This originally came from the East Coast so I am guessing it most likely was made there. The single board construction for the main box are highly figured and have nicely done dove tail construction to the top and bottom ends with the drawers having good thick fronts with paneled bottoms and the material used for the inside drawers is a very soft grey/blue felt type material. The front cover shows a wavy edge that frames a solid flat panel with all hardware being solid brass and even the corner guards resemble the wavy design on the edges of the front cover. This is a very well done case and would be perfect for display and storing collections in or to be used as a bench top tool box as this has remained in good antique condition with general surface wear from age and use for over 75 years.
    Origin...USA
    Age...1940s
    Material....Yellow Pine
    Sizes...L24" x D12" x H14"
Condition....Overall condition is good showing some scratches and small dents from age and use with a small amount of paint speckles here and there over its 75 years and has taken on a nice patina to the original finish . The brasses are in fine condition and has a working lock although I would not use the key that came with it since it seems to have worn and does not unlock. The drawer felt is in good shape, but does have some light soil marks otherwise this case will make a wonderful display item to be used for collections or tools.
