INFORMATION ON THESE
AWESOME
COINS:
KM940a (EGYPT)
Original Composition: Bi-metallic (Brass-plated steel center in nickel plated steel ring)
My Electroplating: 24K Gold
Edge: Reeded
Rim: Raised
Weight: 8.5 grams
Diameter: 25 mm
Thickness: 2.5 mm
This handsome originally bi-metallic coin has the famous funerary mask of the boy king, Tutankhamun surrounded with ornamental designs on the obverse. The denomination “one pound” appears on the reverse. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1925, the tomb of this king has opened up great insight into Egyptian history. Some have suggested that King “Tut” was the Pharaoh of the Exodus, though that Pharaoh is unnamed in the Bible. The Scriptures refer to various Pharaohs in both testaments.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Because this coin is originally a bi-metalic coin (left), it is plated multiple times (middle) to get a base plate to give it a consistent 24K Gold plate (right).

My Electroplating: 24K Gold
Edge: Reeded

Diameter: 23 mm

This attractive coin minted in 2007 has the bust of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt facing left on the obverse. The denomination 50 Piastres appears on the reverse with a reeded edge. In relation to the Bible, Cleopatra falls historically in the 400 silent year between the testaments. She is referred to by Josephus and 1 Maccabees 10:57-58 may refer to her. It is said that Mark Antony gave the Dead Sea to her as a gift as she spared no expense in using cosmetics made from the mineral-rich mud to maintain her beauty.

KM553 (EGYPT)
Original Composition: Aluminum-bronze
My Electroplating: 24K Gold
Edge: Smooth
Rim: Raised
Weight: 2 grams
Diameter: 18.2 mm
Thickness: 1.25 mm
This stunning coin has the Pyramids of Giza on the obverse. This particular motif was only used for coins minted in 1984 which appears on the reverse. The word pyramid does not occur in the Bible, however, phrases such as “wisdom of Egypt” “houses of the gods” “headstone” “cornerstone” and others may imply these structures.

This beautiful coin was only issued in 2002 with a bust headdress of the Queen of Sheba on the obverse. The Crowned arms with supporters above appear on the reverse with the words “Republic of Somalia” and “100 Shillings.” A Biblical account records that she heard of the wisdom of Solomon and came to Jerusalem bearing gifts to ask him several questions. Solomon answers them all.
