    Description:
A great looking about uncirculated or better rare copper-nickel coin from Egypt. This is a one piastre or qirsh from the reign of Abdul Hamid II the Ottoman Sultan. The coin shows the sultan's tughra, a rose to the right of the tughra, the denomination below it and then a floral vine surrounding it all on the obverse. The reverse says Duribah Fi Misr (struck in Egypt) with Abdul Hamid accession year of 1293 AH, an indication that the coin was struck in the 25th year of his reign, all of which is surrounded by stars. It is KM-299 measuring approximately 22 mm in diameter. The coin has a plain rim. Coins of such small denomination and low mintage (751,000) are very rare in such a high grade. They normally were used extensively by the people and were lost or severely abused. Please view scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

I would grade this coin as an about uncirculated or better with all the details being well preserved. The coin has most if not all of its original mint luster. It has a few bag marks and no other observable issues. It is much better than the scan shows. It has wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. . The coin has excellent eye appeal and is beautiful. Please see photo for condition information.
